Favorite Friday—Not Forgotten

Yes I know it’s Sunday, not Friday. But I have not forgotten my Favorite Friday promise! So this was my favorite thing on Friday. The Bride and Groom First and Forever Cookbook by Mary and Sara Corpening from North Carolina. It has all of those timeless recipes like Roast Chicken and Vegetables, Stovetop Macaroni and Cheese, and Better than Grandma’s Meat Loaf. They also introduce fast, easy and delicious recipes for all occasions. The Corn Chip-Crusted Halibut with Creamy Salsa and Cilantro and the Grilled Tuna with Soy-Ginger Glaze are two of my personal favorites. This cookbook is a great tool for a new couple. It teaches all the basics of cooking and how to have a “Global Pantry”. They incorporate menus for anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, and Thanksgiving. They also have 3 special “Cooking Side by Side” menus for you and your honey to make together. So this weekend at 1am I happened to be craving something sweet. I busted out my First and Forever Cookbook and whipped up Our Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies. The are delectable. The recipe is so versatile you can add any of your favorite things to the cookies. Coconut, walnuts, peanut butter, etc. The object of the recipe is to give you the basics to creating your own unique version of the chocolate chip cookie. They are family oriented and easily teach a new couple how food can bring a family together. Share the joy of cooking and food with someone you love today!!
