Me, Myself and Lies

Today I begin a journey….into my thought closet. My own mind and how I think about everything. I’m excited and anxious to being this new adventure as I have been struggling the last year with insecurity which is something new for me. I was always that girl who didn’t care what anyone thought. I did what I wanted, when I wanted, and wore what I wanted, and said what I wanted, without a thought to anyone else.

Well as I’ve matured I’ve learned that is not how it goes. I’ve learned there’s a time to hold your tongue and a time to be gentle and supportive. I’ve also had this new-found insecurity come up in my mind about myself and my looks. I’m in the transition phase between 20 something girl to a married woman. It’s hard finding your identity in the in between. I hope and pray that this study will show me the way to be a beautiful, humble, confident woman of God.

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

Favorite Friday: Florida Georgia Line

So ya’ll, this Favorite Friday is all about my latest country music obsession, Florida Georgia Line. They are on my running playlist and every time I hear them on the radio I instantly turn it up and sing as loud as I possibly can! There’s just something that makes me feel good when I hear two Southern boys singing about whiskey, the country, and women.

Round Here – FGL

“The moon comes up and the sun goes down
We find a little spot on the edge of town
Twist off, sip a little, pass it around
Dance in the dust, turn the radio up
And that fireball whiskey whispers
Temptation in my ear
It’s a feelin’ alright Saturday night
And that’s how we do it ’round here
Yeah that’s how we do it ’round here”

Tip It Back – FGL

“Yeah, if you had a long day or a long week
Grab a longneck if you’re with me
Come on now, holler “Hell yeah”
Cause tonight we’re here to party
And don’t worry about anything except what’s in your glass
Whether it’s a cold beer, tequila, or a double shot of Jack
Yeah, all you need to do tonight is tip it back”

Get Your Shine On – FGL

“Strawberry shimmer on hot lips,
Silver buckle hangin’ off her hips.
I sparkle when she smiles.
Shinedown on the radio dial.
Homemade jar o’ lemon drop, take a sip.
Don’t stop girl, you know I love it when you get your shine on!”

Just something about those lyrics and the music that makes me run harder, smile longer, and sing a little louder. And then when the Nelly Remix of Cruise came out, I literally about died. haha. I mean it’s come on, it’s Nelly. Ok, ok, I’ll stop before you all think I’m crazy.

Hope ya’ll have a Fabulous Friday Rockin’ Out to your own Favorite Jams!

Severely Unmotivated

Between moving, work, marriage, family and just life in general I have been procrastinating with every fiber of my being any kind of exercise. I want to be better. I want to want to work out. I want to like to work out. But for some reason I can’t seem to find my motivation. I can eat healthy, I can not eat sweets, I can not drink. For some reason I just can’t get the last part of motivating my behind to be consistent. So to add the pressure I am going to do 3 things:

1. Work out in some way shape or form for at least 20 minutes a day
2. Work towards being a morning person
3. Report every Sunday to you on here my accomplishments or my unsuccessful attempts

I think with these three things that I could make my efforts realistic and possibly achieve something!! I just have to remember.

Snuggle Up with a Book Weather

So being that this insane cold front has blown across our way this week I have spent most evenings snuggled up on my couch with Gracie reading. My latest favorite author is Adriana Trigiani. My first iBook purchase was her recent novel, Very Valentine. It made me laugh, cry and relive all those precious memories of Italy from my honeymoon. I cannot wait to read the sequel Brava, Valentine. She writes with such straightforwardness with vivid characters that are easy to relate to and, lock you into the book completely. I recently started her Big Stone Gap series and I read the entire first novel in one day! She’s funny, charming, realistic, and easy to read. Sure makes my winter evenings fly right on by!

Time flies…

As I have gotten older I now realize what the important things are in life, like family. How the holidays, birthday parties, and Sunday lunches are the special moments and we should treasure them. Time flies and before you know it you’ll be looking back through those old albums and thinking, where did the time go? Being that I am still considered a newlywed I have also realized the importance of professional photography. Those precious images of my wedding are all of my memories of that day and I wouldn’t ask for that money back for the world. Inviting someone to come in and capture the laughter and love that you celebrate with your family is so very important, at least I think so. A photographer sees things that we don’t see when we’re in these moments. They can create this perfect image that shows all the emotion of that one second for us to cherish. I know in these economic times it can be hard to find the extra income for the fun things, but I believe that taking the time and money for family photos is beyond worth it. My mom’s side of the family is quite large and the last time we all had family photos done was about 7 years ago, so needless to say it was time for an upgrade. So I rallied the troops and here’s what we got…

These photos of my grandparents are some that I will hold close to my heart forever. I will always remember them just like this, with so much joy.

I think this is the first family photo we’ve had since my sister and I were under the ages of 5. I love it. It captures us perfectly!

Spot, my families Boston Terrier, and my mother’s favorite child haha

Princess Mia, who is also my Gracie’s BFF, the sweetest Boxer around.

I can’t wait to get these photos our the wall of our new apartment! I also plan to not wait another 7 years before we do this again. Time goes by way to fast, so don’t wait or else you might miss it.

Playing Catch Up

Oh lovely followers, I do apologize for the lack of blogging this week. It’s seems the second week home from a whimsical, European honeymoon is spent playing catch up with life. My mind seems not to want to return to the normal, everyday world. It would rather stay here:

Thank you for your support and I promise more post ASAP!
